Individual Object Lessons Add To Sunday School Discussion
Heres a discussion starter idea that can be used effectively with everyone from older children to senior citizens. At the end of the class period, look ahead to the next lesson. Briefly summarize the lesson and pull out one word or phrase that is the theme for that lesson. Then urge each member to bring along to next weeks class an object that illustrates this theme. If the theme is "spiritual growth," for example, they might bring a flower or a packet of seeds. They might illustrate a lesson on "faith" with a rock or butterfly cocoon. Urge each person to be creative and spend some time thinking about what to bring. Then, at the start of the following weeks lesson, ask each person to share their object and why they brought it. Allow time for positive comments and discussion.
