Organize A Local Sunday School "Work Camp"

Each year thousands of Christians give a few hours, a few days or a few weeks of their time to help others as a part of a "work camp." Many churches, denominational groups and private groups plan these work camps here in the U.S. and abroad as a way for Christians to use their time and talents to help others. But, do you have to go great distances to be involved in such a work camp? Look around your community, you probably have persons right in your area who could use your help. Identify the needs and then organize a work camp project to build an entry ramp for a handicapped person, make home repairs for an elderly person or whatever. Enlist donations of time and money from the members of your Sunday school to make your local "work camp" a reality.
