Introducing the
Lord's Day Alliance
of Pennsylvania
The Lord's Day Alliance of Pennsylvania is affiliated with the Lord's Day Alliance of the United States, the only national organization whose sole purpose is the maintenance and cultivation of the Lord's Day as a day of rest, worship, Christian education and spiritual renewal.
In its efforts to promote the proper observance of the Lord's Day, the L.D.A. seeks to educate the Christian community about the importance of public worship and the individual Christian's obligation to keep the Lord's Day holy. The Alliance encourages businesses to observe the Lord's Day and to provide their employees with that day free for worship and rest. Christians believe that it is the responsibility of both church and family to instill proper values, including respect for God's gift of the Sabbath.
Our organization's educational efforts include a quarterly newsletter, printed as a part of the Pennsylvania State Sunday School Association's publication, "The Herald", distribution of appropriate videos, books and documents related to observance of the Lord's Day. We recognize businesses that keep the Sabbath and provide resources for local churches that plan special emphases on observing Sunday as a holy day. We promote the second Sunday of February as "Sunday Observance Sunday". We also cooperate with the Lord's Day Alliance of the United States to sponsor a statewide and national youth essay contest.
Two of the free resources that are currently available from the L.D.A. of PA include the flyer entitled "Sunday Is A Special Day", which lists nine different reasons why Sunday is a special day, and the reproducible bulletin insert sheet entitled "T.G.I.S. - Thank Goodness Its Sunday". Both of these items are available within the U.S.A. without charge. If ordering the "Sunday Is A Special Day" flyer, please tell us how many copies you can use.
