WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?
Christians are one to ask, "What would Jesus do?", but what we
often need more is to ask ourselves and one another, what would He do. When I
was younger I had trouble sharing toys of mine with my five older sisters. When
I became a little older, I thought of what Jesus would've done if he were to be
playing with friends or relatives. Now I do what to make a point, that we are
not perfect. We are humans, we sin but what is in growing in our spiritual walk
with God is learning to start playing the dusty cards at the bottom of the deck,
the ones that imply that we must follow the right path to Heaven. I must write,
when I use the phrase, "What Would Jesus Do?" it makes life a whole lot easier.
No hesitations, no long thoughts, its either He would or He wouldn't. Now of
course watching TV is something Jesus wouldn't have done because He had no TV!
But put in perspective, would he watch a channel that is friendly in God's work?
So the next time you open grandma's cookie jar and try to sneak a chocolate chip
cookie, think "What Would Jesus Do?"
Second Place - Luke Bruner (Fayette County):
WWJD
What would Jesus do if the sky went dark...
would he say let there be light
and light would shine again
or would he flick his fingers
and the sun would come up.
What would Jesus do if all the water dried up...
would he cluck his tongue
and the rain would fall again
or would he slap his knee
And the seas would be filled.
What would Jesus do if all the food went away...
would he whistle
and all the plates would be filled
or would he laugh and food
would grow again.
So what do you think Jesus would do
if something like this happened to you.

WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?
What would Jesus do is a powerful question! I sometimes think if Jesus had not come into the world at all, what would the world be like today? It is already bad enough with all the stealing and killing in the world. If people would stop and think, "What would Jesus do" before doing something wrong, would they still go through with their wrongdoing?
The answer to this question depends on whether we know Jesus. In order to know Jesus we need to learn about Him by going to Sunday school and hearing about his life and teachings. Jesus taught us to serve God, to love, help and teach others and to accept each other.
What would Jesus do? He would influence those around him to apply this question to their daily lives and make choices about what they were facing based on what He has taught them. He would pray to God and ask for His help. He would help those around him that don't have a place to sleep or food to eat by giving up what He had. He would show love to those around Him whether they were different in looks or the way they talked.
I know that's what Jesus would do in my heart and mind. We are the agents of change and we have the power to make a difference in the world. So if you're thinking about doing something bad, stop and think, "What Would Jesus REALLY Do?"
Second Place - Kelsey Hurley (Cumberland County):
WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?
Jesus is the man
Who had a great plan
The plan to help others
And unite all brothers
When he came to this world
He began as my Lord.
He was sent to us by our
Father, our god
To save us from our sins.
He walked, talked and
Preached to all the people.
To follow in God's footsteps.
I follow in those footsteps
Everyday and every night
To remind me,
What Jesus would do.

WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?
I am not perfect, and only God knows
How many times I forget
And step on others toes.
I really do regret and repent my sins
When I am wrong and temptation gives in.
I ask Jesus to help me along
And thank him everyday.
For forgiveness, sometimes in a song.
Wherever I go,
I know Jesus will be my shadow.
He is there for me,
When I am walking the street alone.
Through all my struggles he carries me,
And lifts me up high, when I can't pull myself up.
Jesus gave me many wonders,
Of the world today.
He saved me from a fight, and talked me out of mistakes.
He gave me a reason to live,
And gives me joy throughout the seasons.
I thank him everyday, for he is the person
That I look up to to remind me,
What Jesus would do.
Second Place - Alex Keslar (Fayette County):
GREAT DAY
I wish, I wish upon a star
that I had a brand new, shiny car.
I wish I was playing a baseball game too
and possibly hit a ball to the Pittsburgh Zoo.
Then I'd stand on the mound with glee
as the umpire says "STRIKE THREE!!!"
After the game I'd go home and slouch
possibly even fall asleep on the couch.
I would wake up the next morning feeling half dead
thinking about school with a feeling of dread.
After school I'd go watch softball
Man the other team sure looks awful
But, oh well, who cares, the girls still look good
and I'm really looking, like a good boy should.
So you ask me the question, "What would Jesus do?"
Well I'd say he'd make this day come true.
